Mermaids have always represented love and passion, but somehow we are more used to see them as children’s illustration figures.

Instead, in "Passion Cave" I wanted to capture their sensual beauty.  Their romantic essence of love is so inspiring, we have all heard tales of erotic seduction and desire between the sea sirens and sailors.

I felt inspired to enter their underwater world of romance, a secluded cave where a merman takes his mermaid into his arms to become one in a passionate act of love, sensuality and tenderness.  

The beauty of their entangled bodies and tails is matched by the stunning surroundings, with a colorful coral reef as the only witness to their love making, while they are bathed by the light filtering down through the cave entrance.

This was a very emotional piece to create, at every moment the essence of its meaning filled my heart and soul with wonder.
