When I first sketched this profile portrait I was mesmerized by her incredible beauty, quite surprised that she had been born from my hand!

I looked at her for a long time without completing her. I knew that she was special, and I didn’t want to just add hair and color to finish her as a simple profile face.

It took me a while, but one day I knew I had to sit down and find out who she was. I began drawing lines on her head, a winged headpiece started to take shape, and then her bright colors and nature emerged.

I was yet to find her name when my friend Karen Watkins was inspired to find her Welsh name (for bright), and she was appropriately baptised “
Goddess Siriol, the Bright Faery”.
